The recent KC TechBridge Data Queries analyzed the top tech skills referenced in current job listings compared to what employers say they’re looking for.

The top five technical skills across all KC tech job postings in the past year included: SQL, Agile, Azure, Programming/Coding and Python.
60% of Data Query respondents thought this listing felt right as the top technical skills for hiring within the market.
40% thought the list was missing key technical skills, including:
Proprietary Tools (Tableau, Power BI)
Industry-Specific Platforms for Health Care
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
Cybersecurity

Across 17,000 KC tech job postings in the past 12 months, there were close to 1,500 different versions and variations of technical skills requested by employers.
