The work we accomplished:
We asked the big question, “What would it take to fill 100% of KC tech jobs with Kansas City tech talent?"
Together, we developed the KC TechBridge concept to organize our region's assets and completed comprehensive talent surveys, built a KC tech-focused data intelligence dashboard and identified three solution themes with concrete implementation pathways.
What we learned:
You told us the barriers weren't skills gaps, they were system gaps. Through working sessions, focus groups and solution sessions, we uncovered:
Last-mile connections are essential and hiring practices need transformation
Education partnerships require universal standards and employer gravity
Network strength creates pathways that talent can understand and easily navigate
Data intelligence drives smarter decisions for everyone
